Christmas snowflakes

Today I'm sharing a Christmas card that is made with lots of free stuff and I didn't buy anything new! I won't spend time telling you how it's made since it's really pretty obvious, except to mention that the darker purple ribbon behind the sentiment is actually embossed scrap paper. Love the texture!

Recipe:

     Sketch from Merry Monday
Bo Bunny snowflake stickers ("Winter Joy")
Simply Cards & Papercraft freebie papers & sentiment ("Trim the Tree")
     Pearls
     Martha Stewart border punch

And because I'm just so proud to live in such a beautiful city, check out this music video - Tourism Vancouver's promotional video about why you should visit our city.

Challenges I'm entering:

Jingle Belles - stuck on you (use sticker)

     Merry Mondays - sketch

Scrap, Stamp & Doodle - use your stash

Easter greetings

I love finding a great sketch that can be used for multiple cards! I just finished making this batch of cards for the BC Childrens Hospital (sending them via Send A Smile 4 Kids Canada) using last week's sketch from Sketch and Stash. Most of the papers are from the "Peep" pack from We R Memory Keepers. The ribbons, flowers & buttons are freebies from a magazine. The gorgeous die cuts are Memory Box (thank you to my BFF Lee for cutting & sending these for me!). The bunny & puppy images are digital stamps from Karen's Doodles and the dragon is from Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon Studios. Of course they are all coloured using Copic markers.

After assembling the cards I decided that they needed some some "bling" so I added Glossy Accents on the Easter eggs (background paper on dragon card, eggs in basket on bunny card) and Stickles to the basket filler (dragon card).

Challenges:
2 Sisters - anything goes
Allsorts - anything goes
Corrosive Challenges - another dimension (the images and flowers are popped up)
Crafty Catz - something starting with "B" (buttons, bunny)
Crazy Challenge - anything goes
Doodle Dragon - Pike's Playground - bling (glossy eggs & sparkly yellow basket filler)
Going Grey with Scrap-Creations - pop it
Karen's Doodles - pastel Easter
Moving Along With the Times - layers
Send a Smile 4 Kids - Easter/spring
Truly Madly Crafty - ribbon & bling

Finally unpacked ... sort of

Update: This card was chosen as one of the top 3 at Simply Create! Yay!

----------------------------------

I have finally completed my move, unpacked the majority of my boxes, and set up my crafting supplies. It's been so long since I've done anything creative (does arranging pots & pans in the cupboards count as creative? I think not) that I decided to start back with something simple.

I used one of my favourite digital stamps - "Follow the leader" from Pollycraft - which I coloured using Copic markers. The papers are from We R Memory Keepers. I needed a boost for my creativity so I chose this sketch from Scrapbook Essentials BC.

Now that I've broken the crafting drought, I'm going to get working on more Easter cards so that I can donate a bunch (including this one, of course) to BC Childrens Hospital (via Send A Smile 4 Kids Canada).

Challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - winged things

iCopic Challenge - animal

Moving Along With the Times - lots of layers (I used 4)

Papercrafting Journey - make it cute (what's cuter than duckies)

Simon Says Stamp - 3 different papers

Simply Create Too - add sunshine to your day

Sisterhood of Crafters - use a digi

Stamp Man - colours of Spring/Easter

Truly Scrumptious - all creatures great & small

Valentine's Day for SAS4K

I'm moving houses next week and almost all of my crafting supplies have been packed but I still managed to make a few Valentine's Day cards to donate to Send A Smile 4 Kids (Canada). I created these cards using free papers out of a crafting magazine, Spellbinders shapeabilities and some clipart printed off the internet.

Challenges:

• Card Positioning Systems - sketch
• Paper Creations Ink - die cuts/punches
• Send A Smile 4 Kids - Valentine's for kids
• The Pink Elephant - hearts (all the clipart images are hearts)

Out of this world

I am particularly pleased with today's 2 cards. First off, the images from Bugaboo are just such fun. Second, I went pretty wild with the colouring, using my favourite bold Copic colours that so rarely see the light. Next, I got to use patterned paper from my newest Basic Grey paper pack (and I luv my BG). I was pretty surprised, too, when I saw that the grey PP matched the grey coloured background of the stamps since I coloured these before picking my papers. But what really makes these cards special is that they are headed for the BC Children's Hospital via Send A Smile 4 Kids (Canada). The hospital is always looking for cards to use for their kids - these will be great to celebrate an achievement such as going home or making it through a tough procedure.

Challenges:

• Basic Grey - Anything goes
• Cupcake Craftroom - Anything goes
• Magical Mondays - Anything goes with a magical creature (I think monsters and aliens would count?)
• Partytime Tuesdays - Something new (papers)
• Pile It On - Anything goes
• Stella Says Sketch - Sketch
• Top Tip Tuesday - Anything goes
• Totally Gorjuss - Something happy

It's been a punchy Christmas

I recently purchased one of the 3-in-1 punches from Stampin' Up and I have been having so much fun with it! I decided to use the punch for this year's Christmas cards (see the sample one below). I mixed & matched the glitter (Glitter Ritz) as well as the papers I used, thus getting very different looks.

I also used the same punch for my gift tags this year. Along with the Stampin' Up punch, I also used the Martha Stewart pine branch punch. And I have to brag at my thriftiness (LOL) because the clear beads/gems added to the sprig of pine actually came from the Christmas crackers we used 2 years ago! How's that for using up stash!

Challenges:

• 4 Crafty Chicks - something new (the punch!)
• Charisma Cardz - anything goes
• Cooking it up with Katie - anything goes
• Divas by Design - Christmas
• Little Red Wagon - something new
• Partytime Tuesdays - anything goes
• Unstampabelles - Christmas

You're Udderly Amazing

• Divas By Design - anything goes
