The theme of the party is "thanks" and so I decided to share this thank you card that I made at a Clipper Street technique class (all about stains, inks, mists - lots of messy, inky stuff) earlier this week. It's a bit of a departure for me since there is no stamping and no colouring involved (my Copics felt sooooo lonely). The Maya Road chipboard elements were coloured using a mix of paint, distress stains, and glimmer mist. And I wasn't thrilled with the colour of the lace, so I used distress ink to darken it. Lots of fun playing with new products but my fingers are still stained!
Challenges:
- Corrosive Challenges - punches (the leaves)
- Deep Ocean Challenge - lace
- Pals Paper Arts - lace
- Raise the Bar - things with wings
- Ribbon Carousel - fabric (the flower is made of tuille)
- Shopping Our Stash - no colouring
- Sisterhood of Crafters - birds
This is so cute! Thank you for sharing your idea to darken the lace; this turned out perfectly. Your card is so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteOh, my, I love this! So much texture and patterns. And isn't it fun getting inky?
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us at Shopping Our Stash!
Hi Shelley, your card is amazing and how fun it is to work with all those inks isn't it. Little tip from me for you fingers... little hot water with soda will do the trick on fingers and nails! Works great for me... otherwise I would always have all kind of polish on my nails.
