Birthday card for my sister and a bit of a brag

Before I show today's project, I want to brag a bit ... My Teachers Rule cards have been selected for the Top 3 for The Crazy Challenge "make it in an hour" challenge.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Birthday card for a very patient little sister:

It's hard for me to accept & believe but my baby sister turns 40 today! I have a hard time believing that I've passed 40 so it seems just impossible that she is 40.  I came across this digital stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil and it immediately struck me how perfectly it portrays the relationship we had as kids. Yes, I admit that I wasn't the perfect older sister. In fact, I was probably quite the monster. Considering my sister has always been very tough (much tougher than me) it's quite amazing that she never belted me! And thus, you can understand why I chose the sentiment I did.
I chose purple for the little sister's dress because one of my favourite pictures of Margaret shows her as a little girl in this incredibly poufy purple dress. She looks completely round (the last time she ever looked plump) and ever so cute.

I wanted to keep the design of the card simple and this sketch from Sketch Saturday really fit the bill. The blue ribbon came from my stash, and the two daisies were cut from another ribbon scrap. I added jewelled brads to the centres of the flowers to add some bling. For some extra shine, I also added stardust Stickles to the white rubon.

Challenges:
Recipe:
  • Basic Grey "Euphoria" patterned papers
  • Mo's Digital Pencil "Stepsisters" digital stamp
  • Copic markers
  • Ribbons (stash)
  • KaiserCraft "White Flourish Corners" rub-on
  • Stickles, stardust
  • Jewelled brads (stash)
